PROMOTION (pro-mo-tion) /prəˈmōSHən/- (noun) Activity that supports the furtherance of a cause, venture, or aim.
I decided to begin my year with a vision board. Nothing I’ve already acquired is present on this board. Last year my word was PURPOSE. I now everything with purpose and continuously make it a part of my everyday life. This year, I decided I need a bigger change mind, body, spirit, soul, in life, and the list goes on. Each day my purpose is becoming clearer than the day before. This year’s purpose is PROMOTION. I intend to promote my mind, body, soul, relationships, and life. This is why my vision (board) is GREATER than my resources.
PROMOTION is selfless and in order to advance you must encourage others. However, understand that there is one thing you must maintain in order to do so; FOCUS. ”FOCUS is the only difference between the successful person and failure. If you try to do everything, you’ll be successful at nothing. ENCOURAGE others, but focus on your goal.” – Pastor Moore
This leads me to four important steps one, including myself must take in order to obtain said advancement.
I. Move Forward
- In order to move forward, you must let go of the past. You must let go of those relationships that aren’t beneficial to you. This may include intimate, family, friendships, and even associates. There’s a saying “if you knew better, you’d do better” so we must realize we can’t do better and get new results if we continue to live mundane. You can’t grow with people who are in your situation. You have to involve yourself with people who have your solution. This does not mean forget those and look down upon them once you’re promoted. You have to allow yourself to be promoted in order to promote others. “If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always got.” - Pastor Moore
- The reason most people don’t succeed is because they don’t take risks. We often find ourselves in regret because we didn’t take the chance and became stuck in a situation we were overqualified for. We must be willing to to step out and take that risk. When we deny the risk, we become failures. Success is in taking the risk even if you don’t see its reward immediately. “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain
- The first step is a vision board. Start small with your current year. Focus only on the things you want to accomplish this year. Do not go outside of the year. While, it’s great to plan for years ahead, you need FOCUS. If you’re single and want love, post the love you want and an engagement ring before wedding pictures. I say this, because this is what you plan to acquire in the year. Once you obtain your engagement ring, post the dream wedding you want. Then you can post the family you desire. Focus on the level of importance step by step. If you want to lose weight post a person who’s smaller than you, but not your overall goal size. As you continue to lose weight, remove and add until you’ve finally reached your goal. Make sure these are things you have yet to receive, however once they manifest remove and add something new. Make your vision great, because it’s your vision. Don’t allow other’s to control your vision. “We keep ourselves small to make others happy, then get mad at them for keeping us there.” – Oprah
- Thoughts become things all of the time. If we continue to focus on negative things, they will manifest. Even if you disagree with something, encourage the other. Don’t say “I hate being single!” Shout, “I love healthy marriages and relationships!” ”I hate my job” shouldn’t exit your mouth because you can lose it anytime and have nothing. ”I’m thankful I have my job and I can’t wait to be promoted to the position I’m qualified for,” should consistently be spoken into the atmosphere. I CAN, I WILL, I LOVE, I AM, I LOVE, I CAN, I WILL, I DESIRE, I AM, I WILL, I LOVE, I CAN, I WILL, I DESERVE……… I PROMOTE!!!!!!! “Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that.
